Mike McQuade
The awesome work of Mike McQuade (@mcqtweet)! It shouldn’t be a surprise that I would be into such a beautiful combination of hand and digital work. Mike seriously has just too much great stuff from digital illustrations, identity designs (like the Tom, Dick and Harry piece) and hand pulled serigraphs and screen prints. Check out more at mikemcquade.com!

Lettering Daily by Magic Maia
I came across @magicmaia’s absolutely lovely work last week and immediately thought, “how the hell have I not seen this sooner?” You can see more of Maia’s randomly doodled thoughts captured with her iPhone at letteringdaily.

Atreyu
Atreyu is a contemporary textura blackletter inspired from Gothic Illuminated Manuscripts of 14th century Germany. I’ve always had an affinity for blackletter since I grew up drawing calligraphy. And lets face it nothing can say Heavy Metal to Happy Holidays like a good old fashion blackletter. You can get a copy of Atreyu from over at the pay what you wish type site, The Lost Type Co-op.

Let's Do It
sketchy-letters: After almost 2 months on hiatus Sketchy Letters is back (hopefully on a regular schedule). Earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, weddings, a trip to San Francisco, a case of pneumonia, and catching a cold after that had conspired against me but now “let’s do it.” :)
